1 packet Lipton onion soup mix

Place the frozen chuck roast in the bottom of the crock pot.

Add the coarsely chopped carrots and chopped potatoes on top of the roast.

Sprinkle the Lipton onion soup mix over the roast and vegetables.

Add a little bit of pepper and a small amount of salt over the top.

Pour the beef broth into the crock pot until it comes up at least halfway on the roast.

Put the lid on the crock pot.

Cook on high for about 6 to 7 hours.

After 6 and 1/2 hours, check the roast and vegetables; they should be soft and fully cooked.

Use a slotted spoon to remove the vegetables from the crock pot.

Pull the roast out of the crock pot.

To make gravy, mix 2 tablespoons of corn starch with 1/4 cup of cold water until smooth.

Add the corn starch mixture to a saucepan along with 2 cups of the beef broth or juice from the crock pot.

Once the gravy has thickened, plate the pot roast, potatoes, and carrots.
