Homemade Blueberry Toaster Strudels

In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup of sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
Add 1/2 cup of cubed cold butter and 4 ounces of cream cheese to the mixture.
Use a fork, pastry cutter, or potato masher to mix until crumbly.
Add cold heavy cream (1/4 to 1/2 cup) until a dough forms; you may need extra tablespoons to make it come together.
Cut the dough into two even pieces, wrap in plastic wrap, and shape into squares. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
After 1 hour, take one dough ball out and let it sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.
Flour a clean surface and roll out the dough. Clean up the sides with a knife and set excess dough aside.
Place the rolled-out dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate while rolling out the second dough ball.
For the egg wash, mix 1 egg with 2 tablespoons of milk in a small bowl until combined.
Take the pastries from the fridge and coat the bottom layer with the egg wash. Add blueberry preserve filling, leaving a 1/4 inch seam.
Place the top layer of the pastries on and press the edges together with a fork. Poke holes on top for steam to escape.
Coat the pastries with egg wash and refrigerate for 30 minutes before baking.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Bake the pastries for 20 to 22 minutes until golden brown.
Let the pastries cool for at least 10 minutes before icing.
For the icing, mix powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream until smooth. Optionally, place in a ziplock bag for easier application.
Drizzle the icing over the cooled pastries.
