Heat 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup chocolate chips in a pan over very low heat until melted, stirring to combine.
Transfer the melted chocolate and butter into a safe glass bowl.
Add 1 cup sugar and a pinch of salt to the bowl and stir until combined.
Add 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to the mixture, stirring until well combined.
Sprinkle 1 cup all-purpose flour on top of the mixture and stir until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Pour the batter into a lined 9-inch square baking pan and spread it out evenly.
Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes, checking with a toothpick to ensure it comes out clean.
Allow the brownies to cool to room temperature before lifting them out of the pan using the parchment paper.
Cut the brownies into nine squares using a pastry scraper.
