Agave syrup is lower on the glycemic index, while honey is often less expensive.

Add 2 cups of water and 2 cups of sugar into a saucepan with a lid.

Stir occasionally and heat over medium until the sugar dissolves, avoiding boiling.

Once the sugar is dissolved and bubbles form, remove from heat and add 5 sprigs of rosemary.

Cover the pan and let the rosemary steep for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

After steeping for 1 hour, strain the rosemary syrup through a wire mesh sieve and discard the rosemary.

In a mason jar, add vodka and ruby red grapefruit juice, adjusting the amount to taste.

Pour in the rosemary syrup almost to the top of the jar.

Garnish with a small sprig of rosemary.
