6 tablespoons unsalted softened butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon
16 tablespoons softened salted butter
1 cup powdered sugar
1 and 1/2 tablespoons whole milk
1 orange
1 drop orange oil
1

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

2

Measure out 3 and 3/4 cups of all-purpose flour into a stand mixing bowl.

3

Add 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of kosher salt to the flour and mix with a whisk.

4

Heat 1 cup of whole milk in the microwave to a temperature between 110°F and 120°F.

5

Add 1/3 cup of granulated sugar to the warm milk and dissolve it.

6

Add yeast to the milk mixture and let it bloom.

7

Once bloomed, add the yeast mixture to the stand mixing bowl with the flour and salt.

8

Add 1 room temperature egg and 6 tablespoons of unsalted softened butter to the bowl.

9

Mix on medium speed with the dough hook attachment until the dough forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.

10

Spray a large bowl with baking spray and place the dough in it, tucking it under itself.

11

Cover the bowl with a damp dish towel and place it in a warm area to rise.

12

For the filling, mix together 3/4 cup of brown sugar (or 1/2 cup of sugar as a substitute) and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon in a bowl.

13

Add 16 tablespoons of softened salted butter to the sugar and cinnamon mixture and mix well.

14

Cover the filling and refrigerate until ready to use.

15

For the icing, mix 1 cup of powdered sugar with 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of whole milk in a bowl.

16

Zest one orange and add it to the icing mixture along with 1 drop of orange oil, then mix well.

17

Refrigerate the icing until ready to use.

18

Once the dough has risen, place it on a floured work surface and roll it out to about 1/4 inch thickness.

19

Spread the filling evenly over the rolled-out dough.

20

Roll the dough tightly into a log shape.

21

Cut the rolled dough into 12 even pieces, trying to make them as even as possible.

22

Place the 12 pieces into a greased baking dish and cover with a damp dish towel.

23

Let the rolls rise until they double in size.

24

Bake the rolls in the preheated oven at 350°F for 20 to 24 minutes.

25

Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool for 30 minutes before icing.

26

Drizzle the icing over the cooled cinnamon rolls and serve.
