Let the bread soak for 10-15 minutes until softened.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
Add the soaked bread mixture to the egg mixture and combine well.
Stir in the raisins, lemon zest, and chopped almonds.
Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
Dot the top with small pieces of butter and sprinkle with dark chocolate.
Bake for 30-40 minutes until the top is golden and set.
Allow to cool slightly before serving.
