Make a puree from fresh strawberries and taste it, adding a touch of sugar if desired.
In a shaker with ice, add 1.5 ounces of strawberry puree.
Add 1.5 ounces of tequila to the shaker.
Add 1 ounce of aperol to the shaker.
Add 3/4 ounce of fresh squeezed lime juice to the shaker.
Rub the rim of a cocktail glass with lime and dip it into salt to coat.
Shake the mixture in the shaker for about 15 seconds to dilute and balance the drink.
Strain the mixture into the prepared cocktail glass.
