Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
Cut into squares or circles, and place on a baking sheet.
Fill each piece with a mixture of chopped dates and nuts, then fold or seal.
Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake until golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.
Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
