Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, about 5 minutes.
Roll out the dough to about 1/8-inch thickness.
Cut the dough into strips, about 1 inch wide and 4-6 inches long.
Make a slit in the center of each strip and twist one end through the slit to form a bow shape.
Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
Fry the twisted dough in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
