Heat the milk and butter in a small saucepan until about 105-110°F.
Combine the dry ingredients in a bowl, adding yeast.
Pour the warm milk and butter into the dry ingredients and mix until incorporated.
In another bowl, whisk the eggs and vanilla until combined.
Add the egg and vanilla mixture to the batter and mix well.
Refrigerate the batter overnight to build flavor.
Once the waffle iron is hot, ladle the batter onto the hot iron.
Bake the waffles for about 4 minutes, adjusting time for desired crispness.
Lift the waffles off the waffle iron and place them on a plate.
Top the waffles with sweet cream ice cream and a dollop of jam.
