Chocolate chip cookies originated in the United States in the 1930s, created by Ruth Wakefield at the Toll House Inn. They quickly became a beloved treat, symbolizing comfort and home baking. Today, variations abound, with pudding mix adding extra softness and chewiness, making them a favorite for cookie lovers everywhere.
Add 2.25 cups of flour and 1 teaspoon of baking soda to a bowl and mix together.
Set the flour and baking soda mixture aside.
In another bowl, add 1 cup of softened butter, 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup white sugar, 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 small package of vanilla pudding mix.
Mix the ingredients in the bowl together until well combined.
Add some of the flour and baking soda mixture to the wet ingredients and mix.
Add the rest of the flour and baking soda mixture and mix until fully incorporated.
Stir in 12 ounces of chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Using a cookie scooper, place the cookie dough on a baking sheet, leaving room for them to grow.
Bake in the oven at 375°F for 10 minutes.
Remove cookies from the oven and let them cool.
