Today, Achma is celebrated for its soft, fluffy texture and is a staple in Turkish bakeries, often enjoyed fresh and warm. Variations exist across different regions, with some incorporating fillings like cheese or olives, showcasing the bread's versatility and appeal.

Boil 400 mL of milk in a heat-resistant measuring cup.
Add 200 mL of room temperature water to the boiled milk.
Stir in 2 tbsp of granulated sugar and 1 tsp of active dry yeast; let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
Add 100 mL of olive oil and 2 tsp of salt to the yeast mixture.
Separate 2 eggs, adding the whites to the yeast mixture and setting the yolks aside for egg wash.
Measure and add 6 cups of all-purpose flour to the mixing bowl with the yeast mixture.
Mix the ingredients on low speed until combined, then knead until the dough is soft and smooth.
Add a little olive oil to the dough and continue kneading until it is pliable.
Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
Divide the dough into two portions, then cut each portion into eight pieces.
Shape each piece into a ball and let them rest for 10-15 minutes.
Flatten each dough ball into a thin rectangle, brush with butter, fold, and twist into a round shape.
Layer each rolled piece with butter in between and add chocolate filling if desired.
Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
Apply egg wash to each achma and sprinkle with nigella seeds.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
