Mix 4 egg yolks with 4 oz of white sugar using an egg beater until you get a whitish mixture.

Add mascarpone cheese little by little to the egg yolk mixture, beating small amounts in before adding the rest.

Prepare a regular black coffee and let it cool down to room temperature.

Finely chop the dark chocolate using a kitchen knife.

Dip lady fingers quickly in the coffee and place them in a glass baking pan.

Cover the layer of lady fingers with a generous layer of mascarpone cream and smooth it out with a spatula.

Sift cocoa powder on top of the mascarpone layer.

Add a bit of the dark chocolate pieces on top of the cocoa powder.

Repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of lady fingers.

Whip cold heavy cream with sugar to taste until thick peaks form.
