Measure 1 cup of well packed hibiscus flowers, sifting to remove any stems.

Rinse the hibiscus flowers under running water briefly until some color is released.

In a pot over medium-high heat, bring 10 cups of water to a boil.

Once boiling, lower the heat to medium-low and add 1 cup of sugar, stirring to combine.

Add the rinsed hibiscus flowers to the pot and stir again.

Allow the mixture to steep on low simmer for roughly 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes, turn off the burner and let the mixture steep until it cools down completely.

Strain the infused water into a pitcher, optionally keeping some flowers for decoration.
