Spray the measuring cup with Pam to measure barbecue sauce easily.

Measure 1 cup of barbecue sauce and pour it into the pot.

Add 1 cup of water to the pot.

Add 1 tablespoon of liquid smoke to the pot.

Mix everything together in the pot.

Place frozen chicken thighs in the pot with the skin side down.

Ensure the chicken is mostly immersed in the liquid (it's okay if it's not completely).

Put the lid on the Instant Pot and close the vent.

Set the timer for cooking.

Once the cooking time is up, perform a manual pressure release.

Remove the chicken from the pot and take off the skin.

Separate the bones from the chicken and shred it into chunks or finer pieces depending on use.

Serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side.
