Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
Sift together the flour and salt, then fold it into the chocolate mixture until just combined.
Gently fold in chocolate chips and walnuts if using.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Allow to cool in the pan before cutting into squares.
