Originating from the northeastern region of Thailand, Thai Sticky Rice is a staple food often enjoyed with savory dishes or sweet desserts. It holds cultural significance, particularly during festivals and family gatherings, where it is served alongside mango or used in traditional desserts. Today, its popularity has spread beyond Thailand, becoming a beloved dish in various Asian cuisines and enjoyed worldwide.

Brown rice offers more fiber and nutrients, while regular rice is more affordable.

Rinse glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
Soak the rice in water for at least 6 hours or overnight.
Drain the soaked rice and place it in a steamer lined with banana leaves.
Steam the rice over simmering water for about 30-40 minutes until tender and sticky.
In a separate saucepan, heat coconut milk with salt and sugar until dissolved.
Remove the rice from the steamer and transfer it to a mixing bowl.
Pour the warm coconut milk mixture over the rice and gently fold it in until well combined.
Let the rice sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the coconut milk.
Serve warm, garnished with sesame seeds and accompanied by sliced mango.
