1

In a medium stock pot, combine 2/3 cup sugar, 1/3 cup flour, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Whisk together.

2

Add 2 cups of 2% milk to the dry ingredients and whisk until smooth.

3

Beat 3 large eggs in a separate bowl and then add them to the mixture, whisking to combine.

4

Turn the stove on to low heat and stir the mixture constantly to avoid scrambling the eggs.

5

Cook for about 18 to 20 minutes until the mixture thickens and coats the back of a metal spoon.

6

Remove from heat and stir in 2 tablespoons of salted butter until melted and smooth.

7

Add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract and mix well.

8

In an 8 1/4 by 8 1/4 square dish, layer vanilla wafers on the bottom, facing the same direction.

9

Slice 2 bananas into small pieces and layer them over the wafers.

10

Pour a layer of the warm pudding over the bananas and wafers, just enough to cover them.
