Peanut butter offers a nutty flavor, while chocolate spread is often less expensive.
In a mixing bowl, add 80 g of flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, 30 g of sugar, and 1 sachet of vanilla sugar.
Add 1 tablespoon of instant yeast and 40 g of butter at room temperature to the bowl.
Begin kneading while gradually adding 190 ml of warm milk until a soft and elastic dough forms.
Cover the dough and let it rest for 1 hour.
After resting, punch down the dough to release the gas.
Flour the work surface and roll out the dough to about 8 mm thick.
Use a cookie cutter to cut out circles; make larger ones for donuts and smaller ones for classic beignets.
Place the cut beignets on a floured board and let them rest for 30 to 45 minutes.
Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot until hot, then reduce heat to medium.
Carefully place the beignets in the hot oil, turning them once they start to puff up.
Remove the beignets when golden brown and drain on paper towels.
Dust with powdered sugar while still warm.
Fill some beignets with jam and others with Nutella by making a hole and inserting the filling.
