6 servings
Servings4
1/3 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons corn syrup
2 tablespoons crunchy peanut butter
2 tablespoons melted butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups all brand flakes
1/3 cup crunchy peanut butter (for topping)
4 squares baker's chocolate or 2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

2

Grease an 8-inch square baking pan (or use a stoneware pan that doesn't require greasing).

3

In a mixing bowl, combine 1/3 cup of firmly packed brown sugar and 3 tablespoons of corn syrup.

4

Add 2 tablespoons of crunchy peanut butter and 2 tablespoons of melted butter to the mixture.

5

Stir in 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla and mix until homogeneous.

6

Add 2 cups of all brand flakes to the mixture and stir until combined.

7

Press the mixture firmly into the greased 8-inch square pan, ensuring the bottom is covered without gaps.

8

Bake the base in the preheated oven for 5 minutes.

9

While the base is baking, melt 1/3 cup of crunchy peanut butter and either 4 squares of baker's chocolate or 2/3 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, microwaving for 1 minute at a time and stirring in between until melted.

10

Once the base is done baking, remove it from the oven and pour the melted chocolate and peanut butter mixture over the base, spreading it gently to avoid mixing with the base.

11

Allow the squares to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate to chill before cutting into squares or bars.
