Dissolve 2 tablespoons of yeast and 4 tablespoons of sugar in warm water and let it ferment for a few minutes.
Measure 6 cups of flour and create a well in the center.
Add 4 tablespoons of vegetable shortening and 1 tablespoon of salt to the flour.
Gradually add 2 cups of warm water to the mixture, mixing until incorporated.
If needed, add an additional 1/2 cup of water to achieve the right consistency.
Knead the dough until it is smooth and elastic, looking for small bubbles to form.
Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Divide the dough into equal portions and shape each into a roll, ensuring the seam is on the bottom.
Place the shaped dough on a greased baking sheet, leaving space between each piece.
Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Bake the rolls for approximately 20 minutes until golden brown.
