Remove the cooked meat and place it on a rack in the oven to keep warm while finishing the rest.
Wash hands after handling raw meat to avoid contamination.
Once all meat is cooked, prepare the gravy by removing excess grease from the skillet, leaving a couple of tablespoons.
Add flour from the breading to soak up the remaining grease, about 1/4 cup.
Mix the flour and grease, scraping the bottom of the pan to incorporate the flavor.
Season the gravy with salt, pepper, and additional onion powder to taste.
Gradually add 2 cups of cold milk to the mixture, stirring to dissolve the flour and prevent lumps.
Continue stirring the gravy until it thickens.
