Wash your hands before starting.
Boil a pot of water and add a pinch of salt.
Add a 9 oz bag of frozen edamame pods to the boiling water and cook for about 1-2 minutes, ensuring they are not fully cooked.
Drain the edamame and rinse them quickly in cold water to stop the cooking process.
In a sauté pan over medium heat, add a knob of butter.
Add a heaping tablespoon of minced garlic to the pan and sauté until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
Add a splash of ponzu sauce to the pan, or substitute with soy sauce and citrus juice if needed.
Add a squeeze of lemon or lime juice and a touch of sugar to balance the flavors, letting the sauce come together for 30-60 seconds.
Add the cooked edamame to the sauce and toss to coat each pod well.
Transfer the edamame to a bowl and finish with Maldon flaky sea salt.
