Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Blend almonds in a food processor until finely ground.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
Add the ground almonds to the egg mixture and blend until combined.
In a saucepan, heat sugar and water over medium heat until it melts and turns golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.
Quickly pour the caramel into a flan mold, swirling to coat the bottom evenly.
Pour the almond mixture over the caramel in the mold.
Place the flan mold in a larger baking dish and fill the dish with hot water halfway up the sides of the mold.
Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the flan is set and a knife inserted comes out clean.
Remove the flan from the water bath and let it cool to room temperature.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to set completely.
To serve, run a knife around the edges and invert onto a serving plate.
