Season a pot of boiling water generously with salt.
Add cleaned potatoes with skins on to the boiling water and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes until fork-tender.
Strain the potatoes and add them to a large bowl.
Drizzle a generous amount of olive oil over the potatoes and season with rosemary salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
Toss the potatoes to coat them in the seasoning.
Transfer the potatoes to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and drizzled with olive oil.
Smash each potato using a potato masher or any round flat tool.
Bake on the bottom rack of a 400°F (204°C) oven for about 20 minutes.
Flip the potatoes and add 3 tablespoons of butter cut into cubes and 5 cloves of smashed garlic.
Return the tray to the oven for another 20 minutes until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy.
