Prepare your kneading board and gather your ingredients.

In a mixing bowl, combine 6 cups of flour, 2 teaspoons of salt, 5 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1 tablespoon of sugar using a fork.

Add 3/4 cup of shortening to the flour mixture and cut it in with a fork until blended.

Add 1/4 cup of butter and continue to cut it into the flour mixture until well combined.

Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and slowly add 1.5 cups of coconut milk, mixing until a firm dough forms.

Knead the dough for approximately 5 minutes until smooth.

Cut the dough into 18 pieces and set aside.

Dab a little shortening on each piece of dough to keep it moist while rolling into balls.
