1 lb lamb
1 loaf white bread
1 tbsp garlic
1 tbsp ginger
5 Thai chilis
1 onion
2 tomatoes
2 potatoes
1 star anise
3 cardamom pods
1/2 tsp fennel seed
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 cinnamon stick
½ tbsp turmeric
2 tbsp garam masala
Salt to taste

Brown the meat.

Prepare all the veggies.

Fry onion with whole spices (anise, cardamom, cinnamon, fennel, and cumin).

Add all powdered spices and cook for a couple of minutes.

Add tomatoes, cook for a couple more minutes, then add ginger, garlic, and Thai chilies.

Mix and add lamb. Cook for 20-25 minutes on low heat.

Add potatoes and 1/2 cup beef broth. Cook another 15-20 minutes until potatoes are cooked.
