This cocktail reflects the growing popularity of mezcal in contemporary mixology, celebrated for its smoky flavor and artisanal production. It’s often enjoyed in social settings, embodying the vibrant spirit of Mexican culture and the craft cocktail movement.

Tequila offers a similar flavor profile, while vodka is more affordable.
Start by preparing your ingredients: lime juice, ginger syrup, mezcal, and demera syrup.
Measure out 3/4 oz of lime juice and add it to a metal shaker.
Add 3/4 oz of ginger syrup to the shaker.
Pour in 2 oz of mezcal.
Add 1/2 oz of demera syrup to the mixture.
Add some crushed ice to the shaker, seal it, and give it a quick shake.
Fill a glass (preferably a Jep cup) with crushed ice, piling it up to look like a snow cone.
Pour the shaken mixture over the crushed ice in the glass.
Top the drink with a few dashes of bitters.
Add straws to the side and serve.
