Famous Amos Cookies originated in the United States in the late 1970s, created by Wally Amos as a tribute to his mother's chocolate chip cookie recipe. The cookies quickly became a beloved snack, symbolizing homemade comfort and nostalgia. Today, they are a staple in American culture, enjoyed by many and available in various flavors and sizes worldwide.

Mix the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, and baking soda in a mixing bowl and set aside.
In a second bowl, combine unsalted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, salt, and Ovaltine. Mix until sugar granules are no longer felt.
Add vanilla essence and mix everything together using a spatula, then a whisk.
Add half an egg and whisk until light brown in color.
Gradually add dry ingredients in two batches, mixing well to avoid lumps.
Chop macadamia nuts and add them to the dough along with chocolate chips.
Scoop dough into a clean plastic bag and refrigerate for 24 to 72 hours.
When ready to bake, roll small chunks of dough and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper or a silicone sheet.
Bake in the oven at 160°C for roughly 12 minutes, turning on the oven fan.
Let cookies cool for about 10 minutes on the baking tray before transferring to a wire rack.
