Chop 3 oz of herring and place it in a bowl.

Add small chopped onion to the bowl and mix.

Incorporate 1 chopped hard-boiled egg into the mixture.

Add 1/4 cup of chopped apples and 1/4 cup of chopped celery to the bowl.

Mix in 1/2 cup of mayonnaise and 1/2 cup of sour cream.

Add 1 teaspoon of curry to the mixture and mix well.

Spread butter on slices of rye bread.

Place a portion of the herring and curry mixture on the buttered rye bread.

Decorate with a slice of egg, a few pieces of herring, and a little piece of parsley.
