Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
Melt the butter and chocolate together until completely liquid.
Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar and castor sugar until well combined.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla essence.
Sift together all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, instant coffee, and salt in a separate bowl.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
Fold in pecan nuts gently until evenly distributed.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
