In a large pot, combine 16 cups of saskatoon berries, 12 cups of sugar, 1/3 cup of water, and 1/3 cup of lemon juice.
Mash the berries using a potato masher until well crushed.
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
Let it boil for 20 to 30 minutes until it thickens naturally, stirring occasionally.
Prepare jars by sterilizing them in a canner pot while the jam is boiling.
Once the jam has thickened, pour it into the sterilized jars, leaving an inch of headspace.
Place the lids on the jars loosely and process in a water bath for 10 minutes to seal them.
