Peel the green plantain by making a line from one end to the other and lifting the skin with a knife.

Cut the plantain in half.

Fry the plantain halves in abundant oil, ensuring the oil is not too hot to avoid burning the plantains.

Once the plantains are golden, place them on absorbent paper.

Flatten the fried plantains using a pataconera or a couple of boards or plates.

Fry the flattened plantains again in hotter oil until they are golden and crispy.

Fill the patacón with shredded beef, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and yellow cheese.

Add sauces of your choice on top of the filling and place another flattened plantain on top to form a sandwich.
