The Tunnel of Fudge Cake originated in the United States, famously winning the 1966 Pillsbury Bake-Off. This cake is celebrated for its rich chocolate flavor and gooey fudge center, making it a favorite among chocolate lovers. Over the years, it has inspired numerous variations, including different nut toppings and frostings, while remaining a nostalgic dessert for many.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Beat 1 cup of unsalted butter until light and fluffy.
Add 6 large eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Gradually add 2 cups of granulated sugar to the mixture while continuing to beat.
Fold in 2 cups of all-purpose flour that has been sifted, in batches.
Add 3.5 cups of chocolate frosting mix in batches, mixing until combined.
Stir in 2 cups of chopped pecans until the mixture is well combined.
Grease the Bundt pan with butter and a baking spray that contains flour.
Dollop the batter into the greased Bundt pan.
Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until the top looks brownie-like with a glossy finish.
Let the cake cool for 30 minutes before inverting it onto a plate.
Slice the cake to reveal the tunnel of fudge inside.
