Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1-2 hours.
Punch down the risen dough and roll it out on a floured surface to desired thickness.
Cut into shapes or use as a base for pastries or desserts.
If making filled pastries, add desired filling before shaping.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Place shaped dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Let the dough rest for 15-20 minutes before baking to allow for a second rise.
Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.
Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack before frosting or serving.
