Boil water in a pot, filling it about 1/4 of the way up.
Soak the rice basket under cold water for a few seconds to loosen it up and keep it moist.
Add the soaked glutinous rice to the rice basket, using water to help pack it down.
Once the water is boiling, place the rice basket in the pot and cover it with a lid.
Tie the lid on and steam the rice for 25 minutes.
After 25 minutes, shake the rice around and flip it upside down in the basket.
Steam the rice for an additional 15 minutes.
Once done, use a rice paddle to flip the rice a few times to release steam.
Serve the sticky rice in a container and enjoy it with soy sauce.
