1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

2

Soften the butter in the microwave for 10 seconds until slightly melted.

3

In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until creamy.

4

Add the two eggs and one teaspoon of vanilla extract to the mixture. Whisk until nicely incorporated.

5

Combine one and a half cups of all-purpose flour, one teaspoon of baking soda, one teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and half a teaspoon of salt (if using) into the mixture. Mix until incorporated.

6

Add three cups of uncooked Quaker oats and one cup of raisins to the mixture. Mix everything thoroughly using a wooden spoon or whisk.

7

Using a spoon or your hands, form the cookie dough into balls of your desired size, leaving space between each on the cookie sheets.

8

Place the cookie sheets in the oven on the top and bottom racks and bake for 12 minutes, checking for a nice golden brown color.

9

Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool for about 10 minutes before eating.
