Heat a small- or medium-sized pan on the stove to medium-high.

Add olive oil to the pan.

Flip the dumplings with tongs to brown the other two sides for a couple of minutes.

Turn the burner down to medium low or low and add water.

Cover the pan to allow the gyoza to simmer and steam.

After a couple of minutes, almost all of the water will have evaporated.

Remove the lid and allow the rest of the water to evaporate.
