Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger, and 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg. Mix well.

In another bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of vegetable oil, 2 egg yolks, 5 tablespoons of sour cream (or plain yogurt), 3 tablespoons of maple syrup, and 1 cup of pumpkin puree until smooth.

Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and mix until just combined, being careful not to over mix.

Prepare a 9x9 inch cake pan and pour half of the cake batter into the pan.

For the topping, mix together 1/2 cup of chopped pecans, 3 tablespoons of butter, 1/4 cup of flour, and 1/3 cup of brown sugar, along with 1/2 teaspoon to 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Mix well and sprinkle over the top of the cake.

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, checking with a toothpick for doneness.
