Start by making a tang zong by mixing flour with water and milk on medium heat until it thickens into a paste.
Set the tang zong aside to cool slightly.
In a mixing bowl, combine gluten-free bread flour blend, dry milk powder, sugar, psyllium husks, instant yeast, and salt, and whisk to combine.
Add softened butter, one egg, and the cooled tang zong to the dry ingredients.
Mix on medium-high speed for about five minutes until well combined.
Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm, draft-free area until doubled in size, then refrigerate overnight.
When ready to shape, remove the dough from the fridge and flour the work surface generously.
Knead the dough, adding extra flour as needed until it is manageable and not too sticky.
Weigh the entire dough (about 32.4 ounces) and divide it into 16 pieces, each weighing about 2 ounces.
Shape each piece into a round ball by folding it over onto itself and pinching the bottom.
Place the shaped rolls into an 8-inch cake pan or a square pan, leaving space between them.
Cover the rolls with plastic wrap and let them proof in a warm place for about 30 minutes until noticeably larger.
Brush the rolls gently with melted butter without deflating them.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for about 20 minutes, checking for a golden brown color and springy texture.
After baking, brush the rolls with more melted butter and cover with a towel while warm to keep them soft.
