Poke a little hole in the round part of the egg where there's a little air capsule.

Place the eggs in some room temperature water.

Turn on the heat and bring the water to a boil.

Once boiling, turn off the heat and cover the pot.

Let the eggs sit for 8 minutes for hard boiling.

For a firmer hard-boiled egg, let them sit for 10 minutes.

Dump the eggs into an ice bath and let them sit for 3 minutes.

Mash one egg with 1 tablespoon of butter, adding salt and pepper.

Mash the other egg with 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise, adding salt and pepper.

Add chopped cress to both egg mixtures.
