Hearty Winter Risotto

Cultural Context

Originating in Northern Italy, risotto is a staple comfort food, especially during the cold winter months. Traditionally made with simple ingredients, it showcases the creamy texture of arborio rice, which absorbs flavors beautifully. In winter, hearty additions like mushrooms and seasonal vegetables make it a warming dish. Today, risotto has gained global popularity, with numerous variations reflecting local ingredients and tastes.
