Add water gradually until a thick batter forms, adjusting for consistency.
Stir in lemon juice and chopped chili pepper for flavor.
Heat oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat until shimmering.
Scoop tablespoonfuls of the batter and carefully drop them into the hot oil.
Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Remove fritters with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Serve hot with a dipping sauce or yogurt.
