1

Place chicken thighs in a small pot.

2

Pour all the pineapple juice from the can into the pot.

3

Scoop out half of the pineapple chunks from the can and set aside the rest.

4

Add 1 cup of barbecue sauce and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce to the pot and mix.

5

Bring to a boil on the stove with the lid on for 10 minutes.

6

Cut the Kings Hawaiian rolls in half using a serrated knife and lay them side by side.

7

Spread mayonnaise on both sides of the rolls.

8

After 10 minutes, reduce heat to low and baste the chicken with the sauce, then cover and let it simmer for 20 minutes.

9

Cut half of the red onion into smaller pieces and set aside.

10

After 20 minutes, remove most of the liquid from the pot and place it in a bowl.

11

Shred the chicken using two forks until it is tender.

12

Remove the pineapple chunks and any excess liquid from the pot.

13

Add 1/2 cup of barbecue sauce and 1/4 cup of honey to the shredded chicken and mix well.

14

In the same pot, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and heat it up.

15

Add the sliced red onions to the pot and stir occasionally until translucent.

16

Place 6 slices of Havarti cheese over the bottom half of the sweet Hawaiian rolls.

17

Spread the shredded honey barbecue chicken evenly over the cheese.

18

Once the onions are grilled, add them over the chicken evenly.

19

Add the remaining 4 slices of Havarti cheese on top of the onions.

20

Place the top half of the sweet Hawaiian rolls back on top.

21

Melt 1/4 cup of butter and brush it over the top of the rolls.

22

Place the assembled sliders in the oven at 350 degrees for 5 to 7 minutes or until the cheese has melted.

23

Remove from the oven, cut the sliders individually, and serve.
