While traditionally made with beef, variations can include different cuts and seasonings, making it a versatile favorite across the globe.

Chicken breast is lower in calories and pork chops are often less expensive.
Season the three beef steaks with salt and black pepper on each side.
Prepare the grill by adding 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2-3 tablespoons of unsalted butter.
Once the grill is hot, add the steaks and 7-8 peeled garlic cloves.
Cook the steaks for 2.5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 2.5 minutes.
Brush some of the melted butter onto the steaks while cooking.
Check the temperature of the steaks and remove them from the grill when they reach 135 degrees Fahrenheit.
Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes.
Boil 5 potatoes until fork-tender and then mash them.
Add 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter and 2 tablespoons of cream to the mashed potatoes, mixing well and adding salt to taste.
Prepare the gravy by adding 1/2 cup of beef stock to a pot.
Mix 1 teaspoon of corn flour with some water and add it to the beef stock to thicken it up.
Chop a handful of chives into small pieces.
Plate the steaks with the grilled garlic on the side and add the mashed potatoes.
Create a pocket in the mashed potatoes to pour in the gravy and sprinkle the chopped chives on top.
Finish by adding some butter on top of the steak.
