Olive oil reduces saturated fat while maintaining flavor.

Chicken breast is lower in calories and pork chops are often less expensive.
Purchase an 8 ounce top loin steak.
Rub both sides of the steak with salt and pepper.
Optionally add garlic powder, onion powder, or crushed red chili.
Heat a pan over high heat and add a little oil.
When the oil begins to pop, carefully add the steak to the pan with tongs.
Cook the steak for 3 minutes, then flip it over and cook for an additional 3 to 4 minutes for medium rare.
If you prefer your steak more cooked, continue cooking until it reaches your desired doneness, flipping every two minutes.
Once the steak is done, pull it off the heat and allow it to rest.
Bring two pots of water to a boil.
Once the water reaches a boil, add the sliced potatoes to one pot and allow them to simmer for 20 minutes.
While the potatoes are cooking, boil the broccoli until it reaches your desired doneness, about 4 to 8 minutes, then drain and set aside.
Once the potatoes are done, drain them and combine them in a bowl with 1/4 cup milk, 1/4 cup butter, and salt and pepper.
Mash the potatoes until the lumps are gone and the seasonings are incorporated.
Optionally top the mashed potatoes with chopped parsley for more flavor.
Once everything is complete, plate and enjoy.
