1/2 pound green beans, cut into 1 inch pieces

In an enamel cast iron Dutch oven, melt 3 tablespoons of butter.

Add 1 finely chopped onion, 2 chopped celery stalks, and 3 chopped carrots; sauté until softened.

In a bowl, mix 1 cup of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of salt.

Cut in 2 tablespoons of icy cold butter into the dry ingredients until it resembles coarse oatmeal.
