Vegan Lentil Bolognese

1 cup carrot, diced
1 cup brown onion, chopped
1 can (15 oz) canned lentils, drained and rinsed
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
2 cups vegetable broth (made from 2 veggie stock cubes)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup nutritional yeast
