Slice the slider buns in half horizontally without separating them.
Layer ham and swiss cheese evenly on the bottom half of the buns.

In a small bowl, melt butter and mix in poppy seeds, brown sugar, and garlic powder.
Brush the butter mixture generously over the top of the buns.
Sprinkle chopped onion over the buttered tops.
Cover the sandwiches with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
Let cool for a few minutes before slicing into individual sandwiches.
Serve warm and enjoy.
