AmericanUSmain
30 min
medium
4 servings
Servings4
1 stick butter
4 good-sized apples
1/4 cup sugar
good cinnamon
1.5 cups flour
2 large eggs
1/3 cup water
salt
1

Melt 1 stick of butter in a pot.

2

Cut 4 apples on either side of the core to prepare them for cooking.

3

Place the cut apples in the pot with melted butter.

4

Cover the pot and set it on low heat to let the apples release their juice.

5

Add about 1/4 cup sugar to the apples, adjusting to taste based on the sweetness of the apples.

6

Add good cinnamon to the apples.

7

In a separate bowl, prepare the rub for the pork chops using salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

8

Rub a little oil on each side of the pork chops, then apply the spice rub evenly on both sides.

9

Let the pork chops sit for a few minutes to absorb the rub.

10

In a bowl, add 1.5 cups of flour and create a divot in the center.

11

Add 2 large eggs into the divot in the flour.

12

Stir the mixture from the inside out, gradually adding about 1/3 cup of water.

13

Continue adding water until the dough is the right consistency to push through a colander.

14

Bring a pot of water to a boil and add a lot of salt to it, making it taste like the ocean.

15

Push the spaetzle dough through the colander into the boiling water.

16

Once the spaetzle floats, it is cooked; remove it from the water and run it under cold water to stop the cooking process.

17

Drain the spaetzle in a colander and chop any larger pieces to make them uniform.

18

In a skillet, add butter and fry the cooked spaetzle.
